Managing Director Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Ltd Abdul Rashid Loan said the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline is utilising more than Rs 8 billion during the current fiscal period on the accomplishment of various development projects in the country. The SNGPL was making all out efforts for providing the maximum gas connections to the domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers on top priority basis in the country, he added.

Talking to Business Recorder at the residence of Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet division Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday here, the MD SNGPL said that distribution pipeline from Multan to Peshawar was being laid and the development work was in full swing, which would be completed in stipulated period.

The Managing Director disclosed that under the programme about 185,000 domestic, 2,500 commercial and 300 industrial connections would be provided to the big and small industrial units as well as providing gas facility to 80 CNG stations in the country.

Rashid Loan said that adequate steps have been taken for the expansion and promotion of CNG gas filling stations and about 500,000 vehicles were plying with the CNG system in the country.

Special step, he said, had already been taken for providing the Sui gas facilities to various cities and adjoining areas in the country.

Under the special directives of the federal government, Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Ltd had formulated a strategy for ensuring the basic facility of Sui gas to the general public and commercial and industrial units of the country, Abdul Rashid Loan said.
